The PATH Resource Center workshops are free to staff, volunteers, and board members of nonprofit and government organizations in the PATH Foundation footprint of northern Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties. Organizations outside of PATH Foundation's footprint pay $25 to attend. Everything Your Organization Needs to Know About Media Coverage Danica Low, Higher Writing Services, LLC Thursday, April 5, 1:00 - 3:00 pm Every organization wishes they had the inside track to get media coverage for their mission, programs, and events. Danica Low is a published writer and public relations professional with 15 years of experience both as an editor and a contributor. She will guide attendees through the media world to help you get your organization noticed! Participants will learn: -What kinds of news the media wants to cover; -What timeline to follow to see results; -How to write a press release or effective pitch; -How the media likes to communicate; -Where to advertise events within the local media - print and online; -Which publications welcome contributed article material and what this process looks like; -How to develop newsworthy headlines; and -How to develop and manage an effective media plan and strategy.
