Grant Academy
The PATH Resource Center workshops are free to staff, volunteers, and board members of nonprofit and government organizations in the PATH Foundation footprint of northern Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties. Organizations outside of PATH Foundation's footprint pay $25 to attend. Grant Academy Joan Hedgecock, Grant Writer Tuesdays, June 26 and July 17, 9:00 - 11:00 am New to grants? This series will give you the basics, tools, and techniques to submit a solid grant proposal. Attendance at both sessions is expected. Introduction to Grant Writing Have you ever wondered about supplementing your organization’s budget with outside funding or decided that you need funding to launch a new project? This workshop will: -give you the tools you need to assess your readiness for seeking outside funding through grants or other philanthropic means; -explore the types of funding available; -help you search for the funding that matches your needs; and -prepare you to launch into grant writing. Grant Writing Proposal Development Grant writing isn’t as formidable as it may seem—especially when you break it down into smaller steps. Come to the workshop with any project ideas your organization is considering. This workshop will focus on: -composing a letter of intent (or inquiry) for submission to a foundation to test the waters on your project; -developing the components of a grant proposal; -writing SMART objectives; -summarizing the methodology for implementing your project; -preparing an acceptable budget; and assuring your confidence to launch into your own grant application.
