Necessity is the Mother of Invention

Necessity is the Mother of Invention

For all of my years in marketing and sales I have been face to face and person to person. Today’s technology is showing me a different way; a way that I am getting used to. I am glad to have many options and I am up for the task to learn new ways to communicate.

My work as the Fauquier Chamber of Commerce Membership Director is filled with wonderful relationships. I enjoy the opportunities to help people find ways to grow their business. When I am able to help a business reach their audience or clients successfully, it’s my job well done.

This new remote, socially distant way to do business is a different way to communicate but it will bring people together.

In the last few days our Chamber members have submitted information to help us move in new arenas to do business. Read Michelle Coe’s post for multiple options. I intend to learn which ones fit me best.

Amelia Stansell offers questions and answers pertaining to the Small Business Administration's Economic Injury Disaster Loan Assistance Program. Great information.

Marianne Clyde’s post encourages us to remain steady by her encouraging words: Just Breathe.

The Chamber’s membership has posts by experts in marketing, Google Reputation Management, social media options and many other ways to use new methods to improve our outreach. We aren’t going to do business the same way until after this COVID-19 virus is behind us. Even then a “new normal” may exist. This temporary interruption has given us new tools that we otherwise wouldn’t have used before, in all likelihood.

While I am not happy to be socially distant, we are here for you. I might have an answer you are seeking or may know someone that could help you in business. I am just an email or a phone call away and we can Zoom or Skype, too.

Until we see each other again, let’s use technology to our best advantage. Necessity is the Mother of Invention – doesn’t it ring true here?
