It is with great pleasure to invite you to attend the Annual Roland Tapscott Good Scout Award Breakfast, honoring Darren Stevens, Fire Rescue Chief, Fauquier County Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Management. On Thursday, November 21st we will recognize Darren’s distinguished record of professional and civic accomplishment, which demonstrate an unshakable commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
For many years, the Boy Scouts of America, National Capital Area Council (NCAC) has honored men and women of great character, leadership, and accomplishment with its annual Roland Tapscott Good Scout Award. The award is given in recognition of noteworthy personal and/or professional accomplishments, his/her dedication to the community, and because he/she embodies the ideals of the Scout Oath and Law.
Your attendance recognizing Chief Stevens will contribute to the ideas and values associated with developing our youth and leaders of tomorrow. More importantly, your contributions will factor significantly in sustaining programming that will result in a more inclusive and diverse organization while instilling values in our youth such as trustworthiness, good citizenship and outdoor skills. Through honoring this individual of great achievement, you will contribute significantly in preparing our children for the future while reinforcing values that will ensure their success into adulthood.
Please join me and others from our communities on November 21st at the Fauquier Springs Country Club. A light reception begins at 7:30am followed by the Awards breakfast at 8:00am where we will honor Chief Stevens ensuring that every child who wants to be involved in Scouting has the opportunity to do so. Proceeds will directly benefit nearly 600 local scouts in Fauquier and Culpeper Counties (Piedmont District) as well as the 60,000 youth participating in Scouting programs in our local council territory .
