Fauquier Community Theatre presents the play "The Lion in Winter" written by James Goldman about an aging King Henry II of England as the “lion” who does not trust any of his sons to succeed him on the throne. Comedic in tone and dramatic in action, sibling rivalry and dungeons set the stage for this story of the Plantagenet family. No doubt, audiences will delight in learning about the complicated life of King Henry II and the inner conflicts of the royal family as they fight over a kingdom in 1183. As Queen Eleanor says, “Every family has its ‘ups and downs’ and the royal family is no exception!” The play is directed by Charles DeLong, sponsored by Centerview Title Group, and presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. The nine performances of the play will be held at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green, located at 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton from January 25, 2019 – February 10. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm, and Sunday matinees are at 2 pm. Tickets are $15 for students and seniors, and $17 for adults. Reserved seating is available online at: www.FCTstage.org or by calling 540-349-8760.
