  • Hospice of the Piedmont Announces Dr. Andy Macfarlan to Join -- Dr. Macfarlan to Help Implement Serious Illness Program in 2021

    (Charlottesville, VA, August 4, 2020) – Hospice of the Piedmont is proud to announce Dr. Andrew (Andy) Macfarlan is joining the organization as Associate Medical Director.. Dr. Macfarlan will start in August. Dr. Macfarlan practiced for many years in the community, most recently with Sentara Martha Jefferson Medical Group. Dr. Macfarlan has cared for thousands of patients over the years in his practice at Earlysville Family Practice and Albemarle Square Family Healthcare.
    Dr. Macfarlan is board certified in family medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Dartmouth College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a Rufus Choate Scholar. He received his medical training at Baylor College of Medicine receiving the Moody C. Bettis Award for Outstanding Achievement in Community Medicine while there. Dr. Macfarlan completed is residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia.
    At Hospice of the Piedmont, Dr. Macfarlan will care for patients and families to maximize the quality of life when patients are facing life limiting illness.
