Hospice of the Piedmont Announces Dr. Simran Mann to Join
(Charlottesville, VA, August 31, 2020) – Dr. Simran Mann joined Hospice of the Piedmont as Associate Medical Director in August 2020. A board-certified Internal Medicine physician with Hospitalist experience, Dr. Mann came to Hospice of the Piedmont with an interest in a more holistic patient care approach after completing her fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Geisinger Medical Center.
Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Mann graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and went on to get her Medical Doctor degree from Ross University School of Medicine, in Dominica, West Indies. She then completed an internal medicine residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY, prior to doing her hospice and palliative medicine fellowship.
At Hospice of the Piedmont, Dr. Mann will focus on advancing our efforts to provide the highest quality of care for patients and their families. She will do this through focusing on in-home medical care in an effort to maximize the quality of life when patients are facing life-limiting illness. When not working, Dr. Mann enjoys spending time with her two young daughters and she loves to read and cook.
