The public is invited to join LFCC advisors Tajmarie Rowe and LaVonda Taylor to learn how LFCC students can smoothly transfer to one of the region’s HBCUs (historically black colleges and universities) during an online information session 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.

An LFCC alumna will be joining the live session to share her experiences in transferring to an HBCU. Rowe and Taylor will also discuss the transfer process and share which universities LFCC has guaranteed admissions agreements with, and the overall benefits students can gain by attending an HBCU.

“As we here at LFCC continue to celebrate Black History Month, we feel it is fitting to highlight HBCUs and provide students with the many benefits they can offer,” Rowe said. “These benefits include meeting the needs of first-generation, low-income students – which many of our students are – small class sizes, low tuition rates and learning about the Black diaspora. HBCUs are a very important part of the African-American legacy, and we would like to share that legacy with others.”

All attendees will be entered into a random drawing for a $100 LFCC Bookstore card.
