The PATH Foundation invites you to join in a virtual conversation on Wednesday, March 10, at 7PM with author Heather McGhee. McGhee will discuss her latest book, “The Sum Of Us.”
The PATH Foundation is also providing complimentary copies of “The Sum Of Us” for our community to read before the talk. You can pick up your copy at Fauquier, Rappahannock orCulpeper County libraries starting Monday, February 22. Copies are also available at The Open Book in Warrenton.
Heather McGhee is an expert in economic and social policy. She has appeared on multiple national television news outlets, authored pieces for The New York Times, and featured as a guest on many podcasts, including Armchair Expert with Dax Shepherd, Call Your Girlfriend, and Pod Save America. The former president of the inequality-focused think tank Demos, McGhee has drafted legislation, testified before Congress and contributed regularly to news shows including NBC’s Meet the Press. She now chairs the board of Color of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization. McGhee holds a BA in American studies from Yale University and a JD from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law.
The conversation will be moderated by John McCarthy, PATH Foundation Board member and past Board Chair. John is the Senior Advisor and Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Piedmont Environmental Council. His civic and professional engagements have included service as Chair of the Virginia Municipal Liability Insurance Programs, the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation, and the Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission. He has also served as a Board member and officer of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Eldercare Coalition, the Rappahannock County Public Library, and the Rappahannock Recreational Facilities Authority, amongst others.
