Hospice of the Rapidan will host the 2013 Swing for Life Golf Tournament on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Fauquier Springs Country Club in Warrenton,VA.  The tournament is open to all!  The "all inclusive" entry includes greens fees, cart, range fees, two mulligans, tee prize, continental breakfast, on course beverages, and lunch at awards reception. This event is an opportunity to support outstanding hospice care by doing what you love...playing golf!

Hospice of the Rapidan, Hospice Support of Fauquier County, and Spiritual Care Support Ministries will co-host a free one-day camp…Camp HURRAH (Helping Us Remember, Renew And Heal) for children ages 6 to 14 along with their parent(s) or  caregivers who are grieving the death of a family member or friend. The camp will be held at Verdun Adventure Bound in Rixeyville on Saturday, June 1st from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.

The horticulture department at all three FCPS high schools are gearing up for their annual spring plant sales; proceeds from the sales benefit the schools’ horticulture departments. The public is invited to attend the plant sales where vegetables, herbs, annuals, perennials, decorative planters and hanging baskets will be available for purchase.

Connecting children to nature will be the focus as Shenandoah National Park celebrates National Junior Ranger Day on Saturday, April 20.  Visitors will be able to examine antlers, animal tracks, and curiosities of nature on touch tables, and they will be able to try on ranger uniforms at Dickey Ridge Visitor Center (mile 4.6 on Skyline Drive) and Byrd Visitor Center (mile 51).

Civitan International President Joe Parker Conducts Ceremony

The newly formed Warrenton Area Civitan Club received their charter as a Golden Circle Club (30+ members) at a charter ceremony held April 10^th at McMahon’s Irish Pub and Restaurant.

Warrenton Civitan members were honored to have the Civitan International President Joe Parker, Chesapeake Governor Lance Lewis, and various other Civitan dignitaries present to participate in the installation ceremony.

Seniors and Falls Facts:

Warrenton, VA, April 9, 2013— SCSM’s first Children’s Grief Awareness Open House will be held Sunday, April 21, from 2-5 pm at the Spiritual Care Support Ministry Center, 76 W. Shirley Ave., in Warrenton. We invite children 6-14 years old and their parents and/or guardians to participate. SCSM offers support to children and their families who have experienced loss of any kind such as loss of a loved one, separation and divorce, moving to a new location, attending a new school, losing a pet, a loved one’ s terminal illness, chronic illness, etc.
