Difficult Conversations in the Workplace – How to Effectively (and Legally) Manage Employee Performance Issues Steven Ray, IslerDare Thursday, June 21, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon One of the greatest challenges of managing any workforce is providing counseling and feedback to an employee about performance or workplace conduct. This program focuses on how to effectively communicate with employees on topics that may be uncomfortable or difficult to discuss, such as poor performance, absenteeism, and tardiness, violations of workplace rules or generally poor attitude. Attendees will learn strategies and techniques for preparing for and conducting a meeting that can be potentially uncomfortable for the employee and the employer and avoid potential legal pitfalls in the process. The program is tailored for business owners, human resources professionals, and supervisors who manage and supervise employees. The workshop will cover: -Overview of the workplace; -Understanding the legal pitfalls in managing employees; -Tips and techniques for effectively managing employees; and -How to provide constructive feedback and counseling on issues relating to performance and conduct.
